CONTROLEXPERT AND GOOGLE SHOW “TEAMPOWER” AT TRADE FAIR CONGRESS “SCHADENMANAGEMENT & ASSISTANCE” IN LEIPZIG

Artificial Intelligence will significantly change the claims management process as it is today. Andreas Mayer (Cloud Customer Engineer, Google) and Nicolas Witte (Managing Director, ControlExpert GmbH) talk about this in a keynote speech together. To make the future claims process sustainable, ControlExpert uses car expertise and the newest technologies, such as deep learning.

ControlExpert presents the results of their recipe for success to the attendees at their booth (Level +1, Booth 1+2). An AI-based claim amount prediction tool calculates a car damage through automated image recognition within seconds. So the visitor only needs to upload pictures of the vehicle registration document and a detailed picture of the damage into ControlExpert’s AI-based tool. On the basis of the photos, the damaged spare part as well as the degree of damage can be identified automatically. The repair costs can be determined on the basis of information gained through the data. “Most of all, the car driver profits from an AI-based claims management process. A simple settlement of the claim as well as a rapid bank transfer of the calculated amount will increase customer satisfaction enormously”, says Nicolas Witte.

Another way to determine the claims amount with the help of artificial intelligence is the use of the vehicle’s own telematic data. The built-in sensors in a car deliver information about a damage within seconds, so that a damage calculation can be created. What the research and development department of ControlExpert has investigated previously in mathematical-physical models, has now been realized. “We have conducted our own crash tests. A data logger was installed in the crash vehicle to gain usable data. With these data we can continue to train our algorithms”, says Daniel Klima, team leader Digital Claims Process and Automation. ControlExpert works at high pressure to reach the goal: “Claim information within seconds.” The team is convinced that during an accident the damages can be quantified before the car even comes to a stop.
